Filtration Systems We Install

Whole-home filtration treats every tap and is the usual fix for chlorine taste and smell in the shower and the kitchen. Reverse osmosis sits under the sink and gives you cleaner water for drinking and cooking. Water softeners and UV water treatment fill more specific needs, so we only suggest them when your water and your home call for it. Each service page explains what the system does and what install day looks like.

  • Technician plumbing a tall black filter tank and two clear cartridge housings on a plywood backer board in a garage, with bags of filter media stacked nearby

    Whole-Home Filtration

One filter on your main line cuts chlorine smell, taste and grit for the whole house, installed with the line drained and your electrical ground kept intact.

  • Technician adjusting the control head on a blue mineral tank beside an open black brine tank full of salt in a garage next to the house entry door

    Water Softeners

Softeners that cut scale and spotting, sized from your water's hardness and installed with a bypass, a code-correct drain and a careful cleanup.

  • Technician kneeling at an open kitchen sink cabinet, connecting tubing on a three-stage reverse osmosis filter unit beside a white storage tank

    Reverse Osmosis

An under-sink system that gives you cleaner water for drinking, coffee and cooking, with a dedicated faucet and filters you can change yourself.

  • Technician working on twin sediment filters beside a stainless UV sterilizer, fiberglass treatment tank and blue pressure tank on a concrete-floored utility room wall

    UV Water Treatment

A UV system adds a chemical-free barrier against bacteria and viruses in your home's water, sized to your flow and installed with safe electrical and plumbing work.

How We Keep Your Home Safe on Install Day

Most filter problems we get called about come from rushed installs. A loose fitting or a missing valve can soak a cabinet weeks later. Here is how we work instead.

We confirm the water is off

We close the main shutoff, open a low tap and wait until the line is drained before we cut a pipe. If your shutoff valve is stuck or weeping, we tell you first and talk through the options.

Your floors and cabinets stay covered

Drop cloths go down in the garage or hallway and towels go under the sink before any tools come out. Sink cabinets hold cleaners and chemicals, so we set those items aside where kids and pets can't reach them.

A bypass valve on every whole-home system

You can shut the system off or route water around it in seconds. We show you where the valve is and label it, so anyone in the house can find it.

Pressure and leak checks before we leave

We bring the water back slowly, bleed the air, flush new filters and watch every joint under full pressure. Then we check again a few minutes later, because small drips take time to show.

Electrical and drains done right

UV systems and softeners need power, and softeners and RO units need a proper drain. We use the right outlet and an air gap on drain lines so dirty water can't back up into your system.

How a Job Runs

Most installs take a few hours. Here is what to expect from the first call to cleanup.

  1. 1

    Talk it over by phone

Tell us what bugs you about your water, like taste, smell, spots on glass or scale on fixtures. We ask about your home and where the main line is, then talk through which systems make sense.

  2. 2

    Water test and report

We can test your water and go over a water report with you, so the choice rests on your water and not a guess. If a softener isn't needed, we will say so.

  3. 3

    Your quote

You get a quote that lists the system, the parts and the install work. Nothing gets added without your okay.

  4. 4

    Install day

We cover the work area, shut off and drain the line, install the system and bring the water back slowly. Then we flush it and leak-check every joint.

  5. 5

    Walk-through and cleanup

We show you the bypass valve and how to change the filters, and tell you when they're due. Old parts and packaging leave with us.

Where We Work

We install water filtration systems across Prosper and in nearby Celina, Frisco, McKinney and Little Elm. We also work in Savannah, Providence Village, Paloma Creek, Paloma Creek South, Hackberry and Plano. Many homes in the area are newer builds with the main line in the garage, which often keeps whole-home installs simple.

About Water Filtration Prosper

Water Filtration Prosper puts filtration systems into homes across Prosper and the nearby towns. We stick to four kinds of systems, and a single under-sink filter gets the same careful work as a full whole-home setup.

Safe work comes first for us. A filter is supposed to make your water better, so we treat the plumbing, the wiring and the space under your sink with the same care we'd want in our own house. You get straight answers, a clean work area and a system you know how to run.

Questions We Hear Most

Is my tap water unsafe?
Public water systems have to meet state and federal standards, and most people's concern is taste, smell or spots rather than safety. Filtration takes care of chlorine taste, adds a layer of protection at the tap and can help with scale. We won't use scare talk to sell you a system.
Do I need a water softener?
Not always. A softener only makes sense if your water is hard enough to leave scale on fixtures and build up in your water heater. We check with a water test before we suggest one.
What gets rid of the chlorine taste and smell?
A whole-home carbon filtration system treats every tap, including the shower. If you only care about drinking water, reverse osmosis under the kitchen sink is a smaller option that also removes many other dissolved solids.
Will my water be off during the install?
Yes, for part of the visit. For a whole-home system the water is usually off for a few hours while we tie into the main line. For an under-sink unit, only the kitchen line is off. We'll tell you roughly how long before we start.
Is there a warranty on the installation?
Yes. For 1 year after we finish, our workmanship is covered against installation-related defects. That means trouble that traces back to how the system was put in, such as a fitting that starts to drip. Phone us, tell us what you're seeing and we'll sort it out.
How do I get a quote?
Call us and tell us about your home and what you want to fix. We'll ask a few questions about your plumbing and give you a quote by phone. The phone is the way to reach us.
Does UV treatment replace a filter?
No. UV light deals with bacteria and other microbes but doesn't remove chlorine, sediment or minerals. It's usually paired with a sediment filter ahead of it so the light can work properly, and the lamp needs replacing on a schedule.

What Moves the Price

Prices vary from one home to the next. We'd sooner walk you through the reasons up front than give you a figure that shifts on install day. Mostly it comes down to the system you pick and the work it takes to connect it to your plumbing.

We give you a quote by phone once we know your system and your setup, and standard professional installation is included for qualifying homes. If something we find on site changes the job, we stop and tell you before any work goes on.

The type of system
Fitting reverse osmosis beneath one sink takes less time and fewer parts than cutting into the main line for whole-home filtration. Softeners and UV units bring extra hardware, need power and often call for a drain connection.
Your home's size and water use
More bathrooms mean higher flow. The system has to be sized so your shower pressure doesn't drop when the dishwasher runs.
Where the main line comes in
Many homes have the main line in the garage, which keeps things simple. If it enters outside or in a tight spot, it takes more time and more fittings.
Power and drain access
If there's no outlet or drain near the install spot, we have to run one or move the system. We'll tell you up front if that applies.
Pipe material and condition
PEX, copper and CPVC each take different fittings. Corroded or damaged pipe near the tie-in has to be dealt with before we connect anything.
