Whole-Home Filtration in Prosper
We put one filter on the main water line, so the water is cleaned before it reaches any faucet, shower or appliance in your home. Expect less chlorine smell, less taste and less grit. We shut off and drain the line before we cut, and keep your electrical ground intact.

What This System Fixes and Where It Stops
Your city treats its water so it stays safe on the way to your house. The trade-off is a pool smell in a hot shower and a flat taste in coffee and ice. A whole-home setup pairs a sediment filter with a carbon tank on the main line. The water gets cleaned up one time, before it branches out to the kitchen, the baths and the laundry room.
This system does not soften water and it does not disinfect. If spots and scale are what bother you, see our water softeners page. If you want the purest drinking water at one sink, reverse osmosis does that job better. We will point you to the right one, even when that means a smaller job for us.
We work safe from start to finish. The line is shut off and drained before any cut, the ground path stays connected, and every joint is pressure tested before we pack up.

What Comes With a Whole-Home Install
- 01
Sediment pre-filter
A cartridge filter sits ahead of the main tank and catches sand and grit. It keeps the carbon working longer, and you can swap it yourself in a few minutes.
- 02
Carbon tank sized to your flow
We size the tank to your bathroom count and how your family uses water. Go too small and pressure sags when two showers run at once. If your water is treated with chloramine, we use catalytic carbon.
- 03
Bypass valve
Every system gets one. Turn a single handle and water keeps flowing to your home while a filter is changed or the unit is serviced.
- 04
Grounding jumper
In a lot of homes the cold water pipe is part of the electrical ground. When we cut into it, we bridge the gap with a bonding jumper so the ground stays whole and nobody gets shocked touching a pipe down the road.
- 05
Pressure and leak check
We open the water back up slowly, wipe each fitting with a dry towel to spot any drip, and read pressure on both sides of the filter.
- 06
Flush and walkthrough
Fresh carbon sheds a little black dust. We run it to a drain until the water comes out clean, then walk you through the bypass, the shutoffs and the pre-filter.
Questions about Whole-Home Filtration?
Call(972) 351-8085Signs a Whole-Home Filter Makes Sense
The shower smells like a pool
Hot water lifts chlorine into the air, so the smell is worst in the shower. A pitcher in the fridge can't help with that.
You filter at every sink
A pitcher, a faucet filter and a fridge filter, and you still taste it. One system at the main line is simpler to own.
Grit in aerators and showerheads
Sand or flakes clogging faucet screens means sediment is getting through. A pre-filter stops it before it reaches fixtures and appliances.
Coffee and ice taste off
Chlorine comes through in anything made with tap water. Carbon takes most of it out.
You want every tap the same
Some families just want the bathroom sink to taste like the kitchen. That is a fair reason, and it is what this system does.
How the Job Goes
- 1
Phone call and quote
Tell us how many bathrooms you have and what bugs you about the water. We give you a quote by phone and answer your questions plainly.
- 2
Water test, if you want one
We can test your water first and go over the results with you. That way you know what you are dealing with before you pick any equipment.
- 3
Install day
We pick a spot near the main line that keeps the water heater and electrical panel clear for service. Floors get covered, the water is shut off and drained, and most homes go without water for a few hours.
- 4
Checks before we leave
We pressure test, look for leaks, confirm the ground jumper, flush the carbon and run every tap. If the unit sits outside, we insulate exposed pipe so a hard North Texas freeze does not split it.
- 5
Upkeep plan
You get a simple schedule for the pre-filter and the carbon, based on how much water your home uses.
What Moves the Price
No two homes are plumbed quite the same, so we quote once we know the details. Standard professional installation is included for qualifying homes. These are the things that change the number.
- System size
- More bathrooms and higher flow call for a bigger tank and more media.
- Type of carbon
- Catalytic carbon is the pricier media. Where the city uses chloramine, it is worth it, because it handles chloramine far better and lasts longer.
- Where the main line is
- A line that is easy to reach in the garage goes quicker than one in a cramped closet, or one that needs extra pipe run to a safe spot.
- Pipe material and condition
- PEX, copper and CPVC each take different fittings. Old or corroded pipe near the tie-in may need replacing so the new joints hold.
Whole-Home Filtration Questions
Will a whole-home filter lower my water pressure?
Sized correctly, you should not feel a difference. We pick the tank based on your bathrooms and daily use. We also take a pressure reading before and after the install, so you see the numbers yourself.
Does it soften my water?
No. Carbon takes out taste and odor, not the minerals that leave spots and scale. If a water test shows hardness worth treating, we can talk about a softener. We will not push one you do not need.
Is it safe to drink the water right after install?
Yes, once the new carbon is flushed. The first water through can look gray from carbon dust. We send it to a drain until it runs clean before we hand your home back.
How often do I change the filters?
The sediment pre-filter gets changed more often and takes a few minutes. The carbon lasts much longer, depending on your water use and household size. We leave you a schedule that fits your home.
Does a whole-home filter remove bacteria?
No. Carbon is not a disinfection step, and city water is already treated for that. If you want another layer, UV water treatment can be added after the filter.
