Reverse Osmosis in Prosper

We install under-sink reverse osmosis systems that give your kitchen cleaner water for drinking and cooking. We check your plumbing before we touch it, make every connection with care and test for leaks before we leave. You get good water and a dry cabinet.

What Reverse Osmosis Does in Your Kitchen

A reverse osmosis system forces water through a membrane with openings far smaller than anything you can see. Most dissolved solids, lead picked up from older fixtures and many trace contaminants get held back and rinsed away. Clean water comes out of a small faucet beside your main one.

This system lives under one sink. It handles the water you drink and cook with, and leaves the showers, laundry and other taps alone. If chlorine smell in the bathroom bugs you, our whole-home filtration page covers that, and plenty of homes in Prosper, Frisco and McKinney run both.

Safety guides how we work. The system ties into your cold line and your drain, so a careless job can mean a slow leak under the sink or dirty water backing up. We take our time on both connections.

What Your Installation Includes

Sediment and carbon prefilters

These catch grit and chlorine before the water reaches the membrane. Chlorine wears out a membrane fast, so this stage protects your system.

The membrane and storage tank

The membrane does the main work. A small tank under the sink holds clean water so you get a steady flow when you fill a pot.

A dedicated drinking faucet

We mount it on your sink deck or counter. If there is no spare hole, we talk with you about drilling before we do anything.

A safe drain connection

We use an air gap or a proper drain saddle so wastewater cannot siphon back into the system. This is the part most rushed installs get wrong.

Sanitizing and first flush

We sanitize the system before first use and flush the first tanks to clear carbon fines. Then we show you how to shut it off and change filters.

When Reverse Osmosis Is Worth It

  • Cases of bottled water in the pantry

If nobody in your home drinks from the tap, you keep paying for water and carrying out empty plastic. A faucet at your own sink puts a stop to that.

  • Chlorine taste in coffee and ice

City water is treated to keep it safe, and you can often taste it. The carbon stages take that taste out of your drinking water.

  • Older fixtures or solder

Lead usually comes from household plumbing, not the water supply. If you have older faucets or fittings, reverse osmosis adds a layer of protection at the tap you drink from.

  • A pitcher filter that never keeps up

Small pitchers are slow and the filters need constant swapping. An under-sink system holds more water and needs filters only a few times a year.

  • Spots on your kettle and glasses

Dissolved minerals leave marks. Reverse osmosis water leaves far fewer.

How the Job Goes

  1. 1

    Look under your sink first

We start with your water and the space under your kitchen sink. We check water pressure, the shut-off valve and the drain. If the valve is old or seized, we tell you before we turn it.

  2. 2

    Explain the options and quote

You hear what fits your cabinet and your water, in plain words. We give you a clear quote by phone or in person and explain anything that could change it.

  3. 3

    Make the connections

We empty the cabinet, set a drip tray on the floor of it and close the cold supply valve. Then we hook up the cold line, faucet and drain, and fasten the tank and filter housing so nothing hangs loose.

  4. 4

    Pressure, leak check and flush

We open the water slowly and check every fitting for drips. We sanitize, flush the system, and leave you with a dry cabinet and filters marked with their change dates.

What Changes Your Reverse Osmosis Cost

No two sink cabinets are set up the same way. We hold off on a number until we have looked at your counter, your plumbing and your water. Standard professional installation is included for qualifying homes. These are the things that push the total up or down.

Tank or tankless
A unit with a storage tank is usually the lower-cost choice. Tankless models cost more but free up cabinet room. A remineralization stage for a fuller taste adds to the price too.
Counter material
Drilling a faucet hole in laminate is simple. Quartz and granite take special bits and more time.
Fridge or ice maker line
Running clean water to your refrigerator means extra tubing and fittings. The distance from sink to fridge matters most.
Water pressure
The membrane needs enough pressure to work well. If yours is low, a small booster pump may be needed.

Reverse Osmosis Questions

Something not covered here? (972) 351-8085

Does reverse osmosis waste water?

Yes, some. A share of the water washes across the membrane and carries what it removed down the drain. Current units use less for that rinse than older designs did, and we go over the tradeoffs when we quote.

How often do the filters need changing?

Prefilters usually need changing a couple of times a year. The membrane lasts much longer. It depends on how much water you use, and we show you how to do it yourself.

Can it supply my refrigerator and ice maker?

In most kitchens, yes. We run a line from the system to the fridge and check that fitting for leaks along with the rest. Ice from filtered water tends to come out clearer.

Will the water taste flat?

Some people notice it, since minerals are removed. A remineralization stage adds a small amount back. If you are unsure, ask us and we will explain the difference.

Should I get this or whole-home filtration?

They do different jobs. Reverse osmosis cleans the water you drink and cook with at one sink. Whole-home filtration treats every tap and shower, mostly for chlorine taste and smell. What bothers you most about your water usually points the way, and we can talk it through.
